First Graders have been water coloring Giraffe. There was a lot of discussion on whether giraffe had black or brown spots. I love to listen in on their very serious discussions.
Some students always take a lot of time to paint in each little spot, while others happily paint over the entire giraffe. They love the activity of painting but haven't quite figured out that when they are finished it should look like a giraffe! We are working on this.

Fourth Graders enjoyed working with oil pastels. They commented on the feel of the crayon when they filled areas in with color. The colors are so bright and vibrant, everyone was excited.
